Andor Orbán

Биография

Andor Orbán is a Budapest-based filmmaker from Transylvania whose work explores cinema as a space for psychological and sensory state-changes rather than traditional narrative. Influenced by a childhood perspective that treats both rural expanses and dense cityscapes as arenas of relative silence, his films condition the audience to enter spaces where duration, atmosphere, and perception take precedence over plot. Working across solo guerrilla productions and crew-driven projects, Orbán uses sound and image as equal, often conflicting forces. His form-language incorporates tactile textures, digital glitches, and structural manipulation—using experimental techniques to dismantle the medium and expose the tension between reality and representation. Key works include I Steal Your Breath, a nocturnal wander through isolation, Even the Voice Grows Weary, a uncanny narrative on time and assimilation, and The Primal Urge of Evil, an existential digital structure film. Orbán is currently developing a dual line of work: sensory fiction films rooted in real locations and medium-deconstructive projects focused on digital control and system collapse.
