Gabriele Nunziati

Биография

Gabriele Nunziati (born 3 January 1997) is an Italian journalist who graduated in Political, Social and International Sciences from the University of Bologna. He went on to study European Studies at La Sapienza University in Rome and attended the Lelio Basso School of Journalism. Registered with the Order of Journalists as a freelance journalist since 2019, he has contributed to various publications, including Q Code Magazine, focusing primarily on international politics, geopolitics, human rights and social issues. In 2025, he began working for the Agenzia Nova press agency as a correspondent in Brussels, covering the activities of the European institutions. He gained particular notoriety in October of that same year when, during a European Commission press conference, he asked whether Israel should contribute to the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, in the same way that Russia had been asked to do for Ukraine. Following that intervention, on 27 October 2025, the agency terminated its collaboration with him, contesting the appropriateness of the question. The incident drew expressions of solidarity from the Order of Journalists and various national and international organisations, becoming a case that sparked debate on press freedom and professional independence. He subsequently continued to work in Brussels as a freelance journalist, taking legal action against her former agency.
